Jesse A. Meyers was mustered into Company C of the 138th Pennsylvania Volunteers as a Private on August 20, 1864. Not until May 18, 1865, did the The Herald and Free Press publish word of his fate. Died.-At Andersonville, Ga., Jesse A. Myers, son of Samuel Myers, of Gwynedd, Montgomery county. He was a member of Co. C, 138th Regiment P.V. He had an enthusiastic love for his country and the Union, and volunteered his service at the early age of eighteen years. He died September 20th, 1864, age 21 years and 20 days, falling victim to the cruel barbarity of the fiendish foes to his country whilst a prisoner in their hands. He was a member of the M.E. church, a sincere Christian, and a true soldier of the cross and his country. Myers died of Scurvy.
