HIS HEAD STRUCK AN IRON POLE
Ira E. Yaryan, a conductor for the Metropolitan St. Railway Company was killed near the Swope Park line this morning. Yaryan had charge of an open car. To save time he began to fold up the step on the open side of the car preparatory too the return trip.The car was moving at a rapid rate.Yaryan leaned too far from the side.His head struck one of the iron poles beside the track and was thrown to the ground. His death was instantaneous.An exammination showed his skull had been fractured. Yaryan's home is at 4619 Tracy Avenue. He was 36 years old and is survived by a widow and three children.
