Jean Hack, age 60, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, died peacefully Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Center after a courageous battle with MS.

She was born on September 8, 1951 in Manitowoc, daughter of Emil and Lorraine (Jung) Duchow. Jean was a graduate of Valders High School, Class of 1969. She was employed with Paragon Electric Company, Two Rivers, Jean was diagnosed with MS since 1981. Jean was a member of the Manitowoc MS Society, NAMI, a local Bible class as well as a volunteer teachers aide. She loved to visit with family especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed playing cards and board games, while watching "Wheel of Fortune."

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer & Steve Hablewitz, Sherwood; a son: Jeffrey and Shannon Hack, Bristol WI; her parents: Emil and Lorraine Duchow; six grandchildren: Jacob, Quinten, Szasha, Jack, James and Jace; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Richard & Ann Duchow, Chilton, Gerald Duchow, Chilton; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Patricia Woelfel, Hilbert, Tammy Kenneke, St. Nazianz, Katherine and Thomas Johnstone, Kiel ; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Duchow, Brillion; and two goddaughters: Laine KennekeHarris, CO and Sarah Kimball, Menasha. Also surviving is a special friend, Patrick Dineen, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Ronald Meyer, a niece: Shelly Woelfel, a brother-in-law: Jimmy Kenneke, a brother: Thomas Duchow and a sister-in-law: Julie Duchow.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 until 11:30 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
