The 1900 census reflects six children were born into the marriage but only three survived at that time. Three know children from the 1880 census are: Tabitha J., Susan and John.
Following is obituary from the Newport Hoosier State, Feb 12, 1908, page 8, col 3
ST. BERNICE ~ Mr. Walter Pauley died at his home Thursday morning, Feb. 6, 1908. He is one of the oldest citizens, his age being 74 years, 4 months. He was a christian man and loved by all who knew him. Funeral was held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. Grimes of Clinton Christian church. Burial in Sugar Grove cemetery.
