He was born in Summitville on September 7, 1926 to Granville “Dude” and Mildred (Cassell) Adams and has lived in Alexandria most of his lifetime. “Bus” was graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1944. He had worked at Aladdin and Pierce Governor. He retired from Delco-Remy Plant 10 in 1988 after 34 years of employment. In his early years, Bus was very active in sports. He coached church league softball and basketball in Alexandria and softball in Anderson. He was also a well-known farmer in the Monroe Township area. Bus was a longtime and active member of the Alexandria First Baptist Church and supported the church faithfully. Bus leaves us a legacy of loving God and love of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 68 years Norma Jean (Baker) Adams in 2014, daughter-in-law-Kitty Adams, 3 sisters-infant Evelyn Adams, Violet (Marc) Ferguson, Virginia (Rev. Frances) Gough and sister-in-law-Ruth Ann (Rev. Phil) Blake.
Services August 17, 2018 at 3 pm in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria. Bus’s nephew, the Rev. Mark Gough will officiate. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Alexandria.
