Elmer Kiene, 83 of Rogers, passed away March 23, 2007 in Rogers. Mr. Kiene was born January 24, 1924 in Washington, Iowa the son of Henry Kiene and Alice Bjorke Kiene. He co-owned and operated Kiene Brother's Trucking Company and Farming Operations, he also was a former contract carrier for Swift & Company in Huntsville, AR. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Bentonville and a life member of the Moose Lodge in Washington, Iowa. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, playing cards and traveling. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Charles Kiene. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Alma Deihl Kiene; sons; Allen Kiene of Broomfield, CO and Mike Kiene of Neosho, MO; Matt Kiene of Fresno, CA; sister Alice Moore of Washington, Iowa; 3 brothers Joe Kiene of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Ernest Kiene of Minnesota and Wilbur Kiene of Iowa City, Iowa; 6 grandchildren. Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Bentonville with Father Mike Sinkler officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 3-6 at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers. Second services will be 10:30 Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in Washington, Iowa with Father Ed O'Melia officiating and visitation will be Wednesday 4-7 at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa. Burial in the Bethel Cemetery near Wapello, Iowa
