James P. DeMint Sr., 77, died Monday.
He was born April 21, 1924, in Carrollton, Ky. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired truck driver for the federal government, a 45-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of Teamsters Local 631.
He is survived by his wife, Julia of Las Vegas; daughter, Mary of Henderson; sons, James Jr. of Woodbridge, Va., Daniel of Las Vegas, and Walter and Robert, both of Henderson; sister, Barbara Clarke of Riverside, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be one hour before services at 10 a.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary-Jones. Graveside services will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to American Heart Association.
