Sophia Louise Blandon, 89, was the daughter of the late Carrie Timothy. Sophia received her associate's degree from Alabama State and her bachelor's degree in education from SUNY Albany. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Schenectady City School System for many years. Sophia was a long standing and active member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Schenectady. She was a former choir member, past president of the floral club ministry, and was a devoted Sunday School teacher. She was also a former member of the Eastern Star.
Sophia was predeceased by her husband, the late Hill Blandon, as well as her brothers and sisters. She is survived by three sons; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and by many more relatives and friends.
