Mr. Hudson, an avid golfer, retired from the Asheville Fire Department as Deputy Chief. He had attended Maryland Fire College and helped establish the ambulance and medical service with the Asheville Fire Department. A veteran of the US Navy, he remained active after his retirement from fire service by serving on the Board of Asheville Parks and Recreation. He was also employed by Municipal Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Marie R. Hudson; one daughter, Patricia Haney of Old Fort; two
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Bette Kasch of Orlando, FL; and one
brother, Robert Hudson of Asheville.
