Glenn Bell died peacefully on September 26, 2018 after a valiant 2 year fight with metastatic bladder cancer. He approached this disease with the characteristics that were the hallmarks of his life: energy, optimism, grace, love and courage. Glenn is survived by his wife, Carmen who was the love of his life, and by his son, Grayson Terrel Bell, his best friend and the joy of his life. Glenn was born on October 2, 1960 to Terrel H. Bell and Betty Ruth Bell who preceded him in death. Glenn has 3 siblings, Mark (Laura), Warren (Tammy) and Peter (Catherine) Bell, and 10 nieces and nephews. During the course of his illness, Glenn frequently stated that his greatest blessings were his loving family and friends. Glenn was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and spent some of his formative years in McLean, Virginia. Glenn was a graduate of West High School and of Humbolt State University, where he received a degree in Fisheries Biology. Glenn's professional career was spent in the wonders of nature in and near West Yellowstone and Big Sky Montana, where he demonstrated consummate skills as a fly fisherman, fishing guide, skier and friend. Glenn's greatest joys were time with his son skiing, talking sports and myriad other outdoor activities; and with his wife, Carmen, hiking the mountains near Big Sky, exploring the endless backroads near Yellowstone, and traveling to Peru and Hawaii. For those of us who remain, we will forever hold fond memories of his happiness and laughter, the simple joy of a good ice cream sandwich, his eternal fascination with nature and its beauty, and his shining example of integrity, tenacity, love and good humor. Glenn's family will hold a private memorial service at a future date.
