Denise was born on May 21, 1964, in Sheboygan, to Donald and Frances (Musil) Schmidt. She was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School. On January 22, 2000, Denise married Jim Krostag in Sheboygan. Denise was an AP Clerk in the finance department at the Kohler Company for the past 18 years.
Denise attended First Presbyterian Church of Oostburg. Denise enjoyed shopping with her daughter Alison, keeping a watchful eye over her mom, Fran, painting and collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia.
Denise is survived by her husband Jim Krostag; daughter, Alison Krostag, of Oostburg; three brothers, Greg Schmidt, Andrew (Jodi) Schmidt, and Michael (Debra) Schmidt all of Sheboygan; three brothers-in-law, Edward Krostag of Sheboygan, John (Carla) Krostag of Oostburg, and William (Shirley) Krostag of Grafton; and one sister-in-law, Ann (Ivan) Eernisse of Irma, WI. She is furthered survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents; and parents-in-law, Edward Sr. and Alice (Johnson)) Krostag.
A funeral service to celebrate Denise's life will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Jacobson officiating. A burial will take place at the Oostburg Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 4pm until 8pm and again on Friday, at the CHURCH from 10am until the time of service at 11am.
A memorial fund is being established in her name for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, and First Presbyterian Youth Ministry.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, especially Dr, Kumar and Debbie Gray and the staff at Sheboygan Progressive Health Services for all their love and compassion they gave to Denise.
