He was born in Fond du Lac on May 7, 1951, a son of John L. and Emmy Hoekstra Henschel. A 1970 graduate of New Holstein High School, he attended automotive technology school at Fox Valley Technical institute in Oshkosh and Appleton. A self employed auto mechanic, he was also employed by the Hughes Tool Co. of Houston until recently.
He was a member of the Kaiser-Frazer Owners Club of America and served as a past board of directors member of the Wisconsin Region Steering Column, Kaiser-Frazer Owners Club of American at age 14.
Surviving are his parents, 2424 Wisconsin Avenue, New Holstein and one sister, Mrs. Rodney J. (Marcy C.) Miller of Houston.
A memorial services for John Louis Henschel Jr. will be held Friday at St. John United Church of Christ, New Holstein, with the Rev. Albert K. Borns, pastor, officiating. The body will be cremated. Burial will be at New Holstein City Cemetery.
