William Copple, Red Lodge, Dies - Entered Into Rest Monday, Dec 14, 1964
MILES CITY - William Millard Copple, 62, former Red Lodge resident, died Monday in the Veterans Hospital here. Mr. Copple ws born Dec. 18, 1902, at Sedan, Kan., a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Copple. During his childhood the family moved to Oklahoma. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War I. He moved to Red Lodge in 1923, where he married Gladys Schanck in 1927. He worked in the Bearcreek Mine until 1954 when he moved to Bridger. Survivors include his widow, of Bridger; two sons, William P. Copple, and Harold Lee Copple, both of Bridger; a foster brother, Roy Pendergraft, of Bridger; four sisters, Mrs. Alta Hoke, of Roundup; Mrs. Joyce Olson, and Mrs. Opal Lush, both of Malta; Mrs. Ruth Ames, of Sparks, Nev.; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Copple, of Malta, and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Alcott Funeral Home in Red Lodge, with the Rev. Richard Dodds officiating. Burial will be in the Red Lodge Cemetery.
