Rosalie Myra (Nutting) Leighton, 89, passed away in Dover-Foxcroft on October 8, 2018. She was born in Corinna, Maine on July 15, 1929, to Errol A. and Myra G. (Bell) Nutting. She was the widow of the Richard E. Leighton.

Rosalie taught Sunday School at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, was a former President of the Mocutoc Club, was formerly secretary of the Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis, was Secretary-Treasurer of the Bell Reunion, and was active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She loved painting and photography. She had an odd sense of humor she shared with her children. Her motto with her yard sale finds was, "Clean it. If that doesn't work, oil it!"

She was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Nutting and Dorothy Clukey; brother, James Nutting; nephew, Robert Nutting; and son-in-law, Victor Miller.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Church, 156 E. Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine 04426. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
