Briant/Bryant Adams, son of Henry & Polly Hammonds Adams was born during 1815 in Smith County, TN and died between 1863 and 1869 near Bardwell, KY. He was possibly buried on their Obion Creek property but is thought to have been buried in the Old Bardwell graveyard. His death date is uncertain but his death would have been between the birth of their son and the 1870 census listing his widow and their sons.
As a teenager Briant went westward with parents and other kin to what became Benton County where he was first taxed in 1836. When his parents moved on to old Ballard County, KY during or prior to 1848 he accompanied them. He may or may not have been married prior to the 1850 census but he and younger siblings were in his father's household.. There were three nearly adjacent ADAMS households (Ballard Co families #84 & 86-88 with #/383 likely the household of Briant's brother in law). Within the household of "H" and "C" ADAMS (Henry & Catherine) was listed as "B",age 34, born in TN, followed by two teen aged siblings
Briant married Jane WOODS, a daughter of James & Mariah Cook Woods (probably during 1855) and on the 1860C Briant headed his own household in Milburne District adjacent to that of his father (households 462 & 463) who had remarried.
