Mrs. Doris Jean Shinn Carpenter, 80, of Burnetttown, SC, wife of the late Mr. William E. "Bill" Carpenter, entered into rest in the comfort of her home, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Born in Lisbon, OH, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nelle Shinn. She had been a resident of Summerville, FL, before making Aiken County, SC, her home in December of 2015. Miss Doris and Mr. Bill enjoyed traveling and playing cards with friends. She retired from the Augusta Housing Authority. In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her children, Daralee Corson, Burnettown, SC and the late Walter Hugey Anderson, Jr, step-children, Sherry Hendrix and Scotty Carpenter, siblings, Charnelle Wiggins, East Liverpool, OH and the late Joy Fetty, grandchildren, Shawna Walker, Matthew Scott Goforth, Andrew Thomas McDaniel, Rachel Proctor, Rebekah Hendrix, Cristen Anderson, Rosie Anderson and Angel Anderson and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Anderson, Ciara Mixon, Emma Walker, Micah Anderson and Payton Rodgers. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 1 o'clock in Pineview Memorial Gardens, North Augusta, SC. If so desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
