Floria (Borgarelli) Caliendo

FLORIA (BORGARELLI) CALIENDO November 30, 1924 - May 13, 2007 Of Boynton Beach, left this world to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at St. Lucie Medical Center. Born in Pavia, Italy on November 30, 1924, daughter of Oddino and Giovanna Borgarelli. Floria, the first of three children, loved the arts, gardening, but most of all - her family. At the tender age of 19, she met and married, the love of her life – Alessandro Caliendo. They experienced marital bliss for 56 years until his death on March 24, 2001. During that time they endured the hardship of WWII, the blessing of 2 sons, immigration to New York in 1956, and the birth of a daughter 2 years later. In 1968, moved to beautiful Boynton Beach and worked side-by side with her beloved husband in their Delray Beach Tailor shop. Floria was a devoted parishioner of the St. Marks Catholic Church. She was well known for her many talents, including needlework for the altar, painting and crocheted baby booties which she proudly presented to newly baptized babies and many others. Floria had an incredible green thumb and her garden was always in bloom. She could be found watering her plants in the early morning and enjoyed mowing her own lawn as recently as last month. Floria will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. She was BEST MOM and everyone's friend. She was survived by her two sons, Giovanni (Emily) Caliendo of Boynton Beach and Antonio Caliendo of Ft. Myers; devoted daughter, Letizia (Jack) Shaffer of Port St. Lucie; three granddaughters Giovannina (Steven) Salomon, Alessandra Caliendo and Floria Eve (Todd) Clements; one grandson, Ian (Lila) Caliendo and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Emily Jarjoura and their father, John Jarjoura. Predeceasing her were her brother, Luigi Borgarelli and granddaughter, Tina Jarjoura. A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 3pm, Friday, May 18, 2007 with a Prayer Service at 3pm at Boynton Memorial Chapel, 800 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, followed by a cryptside service at Boynton Beach Mausoleum.
