Chesapeake - Harold Eugene Skeels "Ski", 80, passed away on November 23, 2014 at his home. Harold retired from the United States Navy in 1971 after 20 years of service as a gunners mate. He worked as an automotive specialist for another 30 years until his retirement. He loved to fix things and repaired cars for friends and family for as long as he could even after his retirement.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Lee Skeels, his mother and father- Richard and Beatrice Godsey and his sister Barb Godsey.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard and his wife Mary Godsey, Gerald and David Godsey, and his sister Malia Godsey; three sons and their wives, Harold and Janet Skeels, Michael and Eva Skeels, and David and Carol Skeels; grandchildren, April Skeels, Tory Martinez, Lisa Bernard Smith, Gregory Skeels and Christiana Rai Baker; and two great-granddaughters, Elisabeth Smith and Alixandria Beauchamp. Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family.
