Bettye Pearl Davis Henderson age 89 of Jasper, formerly of Winfield passed away Friday in the Shades Crest Nursing Home in Jasper.
Bettye was born on February 21, 1929 in the Corona community of Walker County, a daughter of Thomas and Margie Lee Ashcraft Davis. She lived in Marion County for over 40 years before returning to Walker County where she was raised. She worked as a seamstress at Cotler in Winfield. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended West Walker Church of Christ. She enjoyed attending the Jasper Senior Citizens Activity Center and spending time with her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hudson Henderson and four brothers and two sisters.
Bettye is survived by special nieces and nephews, Tena and Donnie Beasley, Junior and Mary Beasley, Ronnie and Kathy Beasley all of Winfield, Special friends, Wilma and Bud Howell of Winfield, Mary and Isaac Mitchell and Ann Tyree all of Jasper, Nieces, Nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ and her church family at West Walker Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home with burial following in the Hill Crest Church of Christ Cemetery. Mark Howell will be the officiating minister. Visitation will be on Monday from 1 till time of services at 2 p.m.
