DENNIS E. HASSEMER

(1951 - 1978)

Dennis E. Hassemer, 27, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon in his home. Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced Tuesday by Saur Funeral home, Kellnersville.

Mr. Hassemer was born January 5, 1951 in Manitowoc, son of Harold and LaVerne Peroutka Hassemer. He attended St. Anne Catholic School, Francis Creek and was graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1969. He entered military service March of 1970, serving with the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant March 6, 1922. He received the Purple Heart award while serving in Vietnam. Mr. Hassemer was a student at Lakeshore Tech Institute, Cleveland and was a part time employee of Shopko, Manitowoc. He formerly had been employed at the former Imperial Eastman Co. of Manitowoc.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold W. Hassemer of Francis Creek; five brothers and a sister-in-law, David and Susan Hassemer of Francis Creek, Mark and Paul of Francis Creek and Frank and John at home; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Dennis Kocian of Two Rivers; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Peroutka of Francis Creek; three nieces, Shannon Kocian and Corrie and Bethany Hassemer and two family friends, Virginia Schleis and Mary Augustine. Other survivors include aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His paternal grandparents preceded him in death.
