Robert M Barns, 72, of 1302 Eighteenth Street, died Sunday in Port Huron Hsopital after a long illness. Born Oct 19, 1899 in St. Clair, he lived here for 42 years. His wife, the former Lillian M. Saunders, died Jan 7, 1958.

He was employed by Detroit Edison Company for 40 years, he retired in 1959.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joyce York, Troy, Mich, Mrs. Ralph W. Polovich, Port Huron, a sister, Mrs. Thomas Dunstone, Mt. Clements, six grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Remains will be in the Hubert V. Lucas Funeral Home after7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Rev. William P. Schlitts of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Robert L. Dell, Edwin G. and Richard A. Polovich, David W. Hanneke, Gerald C. Andrews and John F. Brown will be pallbearers.
