Grace E. Jirovetz, 97, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018. She was born May 21, 1921, in the Township of Cooperstown to the late Mike and Julia (Korinek) Yindra. In 1939, she graduated from Denmark High School. Grace grew up in the Maribel area and moved to Manitowoc in 1980. She was employed as an Activity Aide at the Shady Lane Nursing Home, until her retirement in 1994. Grace enjoyed country western and big band music and concerts, playing the piano and organ, traveling, gardening, and any event involving family. Grace was a 4H leader for 30 years and a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Manitowoc.

Grace is survived by 13 children and their spouses, Sue Schumacher, West Bend; Fran and Diane Jirovetz, Manitowoc; Bonnie and David Frechette, Green Bay; Wayne and Sharon Jirovetz, Green Bay; Sally and Vic Lucas, Marshfield; Pat Jirovetz, Oshkosh; Robert Jirovetz, Green Bay; Mary Jirovetz, Manitowoc; Wendy and Dana Johnson, Battle Creek, MI; Lori and Jeff Van Dalen, Wauwatosa; Lynne Jirovetz, Manitowoc; Jackie and John Di Cecco, Crystal Lake, IL; Chris Jirovetz, Appleton; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jirovetz, Oshkosh; 15 grandchildren, Steve (Lisa) Schumacher, Todd (Lesyle) Schumacher, Darin (Tia) Schumacher, Emmy Kusuboski, Maggie Jirovetz, Nora (Peter) Falk, Tyler (Amanda) Lucas, Tara (Matthis) Schustereder, Shannon Starch, Nathan Starch, Jonathon (Alissa Naymark) Johnson, Angie Johnson, Grace Di Cecco, John Di Cecco, Paige Di Cecco; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Schmidt, Mishicot; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Doug Jirovetz; a granddaughter, Claire Di Cecco; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Tony Witt; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael Yindra, Quiren and Emily Yindra; and a brother-in-law, Roland Schmidt.

Friends may visit at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, on Marshall, 1114 S. 21st St., Manitowoc, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. John Cella OFM officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Kellnersville.
