Born June 26, 1924, in Saltillo, she was the daughter of the late Otho E. and Bessie Inez (Hamman) Thomas. She was united in marriage to Robert E. “Bob” Fisher Nov. 16, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Fisher preceded her in death Aug. 7, 2002.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by three children, Robert E. “Butch” Fisher Jr. and wife, Karen, of Hollidaysburg, Sandra K. McClain of Rockhill and Gary L. Fisher and wife, Cathy, of Mapleton; grandchildren, Scott, Brent, Tom, Melissa, Krista, Willian, Melanie, Alisha, Rachele and Michele; and many great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Fred McClain. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mapleton.
Her masonic affiliations include member and Past Worthy Matron of the Mount Union Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Knight’ s Commandry, Amaranth and White Shrine. Mrs. Fisher was an advisor for Rainb o w Girls.
Mrs. Fisher was a graduate of Saltillo High School.
She had worked as a press operator for the former L. Greif Brothers Mfg., Mount Union.
Mrs. Fisher enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Beverly Skopic, pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery, Mapleton.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p..m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
