Alexandria "Allie" Haitz (October 7, 1987 - October 9, 2018)

After being diagnosed in December 2016, my beloved, beautiful daughter, Alexandria Nicole Haitz, known simply as Allie, succumbed to the insidious cancer that ravaged her on October 9, 2018. She battled cancer with pure strength, courage and dignity through her very last heartbeat and breath. Allie came into the world on the evening of October 7, 1987.

She attended Our Lady of Assumption School followed by Loretto High School. Allie graduated on the Dean's List from San Jose State University with a BA in Business Marketing. She went on to earn a second BA in Merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles graduating Magna Cum Laude. While attending FIDM, Allie interned at the TJX Companies' California Buying Office. After graduating, she was hired by TJX where she spent the last six years pursuing her career. During that time, Allie found that molding and mentoring others was her passion. She blossomed in a role that required her to build and sustain positive relationships at all levels in the company. Her work ethic was undeniable, working while privately enduring the effects of cancer treatment.

Allie was rewarded with a promotion to Merchandise Operations Manager in December 2017 for her ability, efforts and dedication. Allie had an upbeat, warm and inviting personality. As a co-worker remarked, "I only knew her two years, but always felt like I knew her forever. That was her magic." She loved the feeling of belonging and cherished time with family and friends no matter what the reason or occasion. She enjoyed everything from holiday dinners, concerts, movies, traveling, Disneyland, museums, musicals, sports, having drinks, making scrapbooks, playing games, Sunday Funday brunches and going to the beach to just laying poolside or binge-watching TV with them.

Allie was humble, kind, generous and had an affinity for babies and children. She freely gave her time and money to those sick, in need and less fortunate as well as help friends with their events or buy their children presents. Allie is preceded in death by her loving grandparents, John and Alice Haitz, who helped raise and teach her the values she lived by. She is survived by her broken-hearted mother, Kathy; along with her aunts and uncles, Robbin and John Haitz, and Sandy and Bob Weston. She will also be missed by a host of wonderful cousins and little nieces and nephews she dearly loved. A most grateful thank you to the South Tower 8th Floor nursing staff and palliative care staff at Cedars Sinai Hospital and Seasons Hospice Care for the loving and tender care they provided. A special thank you to the TJX Companies and Allie's friends for all the love and support. It will never be forgotten.

Allie's life will be celebrated at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery Chapel on Friday, October 26, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Allie's honor may be made to the Foundation for Women's Cancer.
