Celestine M. “Sally” Seyller, 95, of Hampshire passed away Monday evening, Oct. 22, 2018 at White Oaks Memory Care in South Elgin.
She was born Aug. 17, 1923 in Lake George, MN the daughter of William and May (Walz) Deters. Sally married Marvlyn A. “Marv” Seyller on June 22, 1946, at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire.
Marv and Sally operated the former Seyller Grocery store in Hampshire for many years. She was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
She was a devoted wife and mother and will be deeply missed by her daughters, Karen (Ken) VanVleet, and Cathy Ballee; son-in-law, Randall Fiske; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marv on Dec. 14, 2016; a daughter, Connie Fiske in 2009; and 9 brothers and sisters, Cecelia, Katie, Suceria, Caroline, Loretta, Johnny, Casper, Clarence, and Leonard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Saturday, Oct. 27 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson Ave, Hampshire. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 7 pm at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with a rosary at 2:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Sally Seyller Memorial, c/o PO Box 445, Hampshire, IL 60140.
