Per his death report, his arm got caught in a harvester machine and he died from shock and the laceration. The only two people listed on his death report were both living is Kisbey. One was a friend by the name of W. J. Hale and the other was his employer, C. A. Darough.

He is the son of Corydon Powers Bond and Martha Jane Sperry and twin brother of Andrew Jackson Bond.
