ATHENS — Mildred Slaten, 83, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 2, 1935 in Hartselle to Daniel Forrest Kirby and Eva Ozella Rose Kirby.
Services for Mrs. Slaten are Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Lynn Rager officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Karen Sprague (Tommy) of Athens, Danny Slaten (Amy) of Somerville, Sherry Perry (Tom) of Decatur and Kevin Slaten (Tammy) of Athens; grandchildren, Ashley Sprague, Erik Sprague, Whitney Slaten, Katie Toone, Jake Perry, Tiffany Colwell, Sam Slaten, Robert Slaten and Nathaniel Slaten; great-grandchildren, Avalynne Sprague, Jackson T. Sprague, Lucas Toone, Kimber Toone, Tytan Perry, Zayn Perry, Aaden Colwell, Grayson Colwell and Myles Slaten.
Pallbearers are Jake Perry, Robert Slaten, Erik Sprague, Nathaniel Slaten, Randy Colwell and Jackson Sprague. Honorary pallbearer is Aaden Colwell.
