BUTLER, Pa. — David E. Fetty Sr., 74, of Butler, Pa., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Butler, Pa.
Born, Nov. 8, 1943, in Middlebourne, W.Va., he is a son of the late Frank Myron and Esther Mae Haught Fetty.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank Fetty, and by his sister, Nancy Moore.
David was a graduate of Chester High School and he received his Associate’s Degree in Ministry from Tri-State School of Ministry
He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Weirton. Dave was very involved in the church, he served as a Deacon, participated in church mission projects and performed countless hours of ministry work.
David retired from Weirton Steel after 28 years of service as a Roller on No. 7 Tandem Mill.
For many years, David devoted his time to coaching little league baseball in New Cumberland. He also served on the New Cumberland City Council and was a member of the New Cumberland Lion’s Club.
He is survived by his children: David Fetty Jr. of Mingo Junction, Ohio, and daughter, Amanda Szurek and her husband Mike of Butler, Pa.; sisters: Velma Reed of Weirton, W.Va. and Jan Heffner of Glenmoor.; two grandchildren, who were the center of his world: Nathan Szurek and Mara Szurek; and by the mother of his children, Patricia Davidson, and his former wife, Brenda Fetty.
Pastor Kenn Jacobs will celebrate his life Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at 11 a.m., at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, 4-8 p.m.
