David George Beito was born November 23, 1955 in Mankato, Minnesota at Immanuel St Joseph Hospital. He passed away October 19, 2018. He was 62.

Memorial Service will be 6 p.m., Friday, October 26, 2018 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service on Friday. Family interment will be in Tivoli Cemetery, rural Mankato.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Watsby Beito and Georgian Rose (Forsyth) Beito and his brother, Michael Gordon Beito.

David is survived by his brother, Thomas Gerard Beito (Elaine) of Rochester and sister, Kathryn Ann Bjorkstrand (Mathew) of New Ulm, nephews, Wyatt Thomas Beito, Erik Mathew Bjorksrand and niece, Katrina Elaine Bjorkstrand.

At 12 weeks old, tiny infant David underwent successful experimental open heart surgery at the Mayo Clinic St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota to repair a hole defect in his Heart Ventricular Septum between his right and left ventricle that he was born with. The Mayo Clinic Surgical team placed a plastic disc in the hole, while the team pumped heart bypass tubing through an ice bath by hand during the lengthy operation. He was the youngest to survive Heart surgery at the time.

David was active in the Civil Air Patrol during high school and graduated from Mankato East High School in 1974. He later received his Human Services Technician Diploma from Anoka Area Technical Institute in 1984. David interned at Anoka State Hospital and Cambridge State Hospital in 1984, was a Nursing Assistant at Central Care Center in Minneapolis from 1984-1985, a Human Services Technician at Bristal Place Group Home in Minneapolis 1986-1987, a Home Health Care Assistant at Quality Care in Minneapolis from 1987-1988, and Volunteered at Social Services Task Force in Mankato 1987-1988. He then moved to Mankato and started taking classes at Minnesota State University where he received an Associate of Arts Degree from Minnesota State University in 2004 and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology & Geography at Minnesota State University in 2014 that he was very proud of.

He enjoyed Skiing, going on day trips with Vine, watching movies, the Vikings and spending time with his niece and nephews.
