Helen M. Asmussen, 83, formerly of Onida, SD, passed away Sunday, 13 MAY 2007 in Laredo, Texas.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, 22 MAY 2007, Onida Cemetery, Onida. Feigum-VanLith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Malenda Lyons; two brothers and six sisters.

Helen is survived by her husband, Irving J. Asmussen; son, Keith (Marilyn) Asmussen; daughter, Stana (Zack) Collins; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

NOTE: Helen is grandmother to famous horseman and jockey, Cash Asmussen, and famous horse trainer, Steven Asmussen; brothers and the children of Keith and Sis Asmussen, all are inducted into the Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame, as of 2019.
