Medina County Gazette - 6 Mar 1959, p. 2 , col. 2: Charles H. Harper died Thursday morning at Crile Veterans hospital in Parma at the age of 42.
Born in Chippewa Lake, he had resided in Galion in recent years. Mr. Harper was a veteran of World War II.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Waite Funeral hoe, in charge of Rev. L. Austin Myers of Wesleyan Methodist church in Chippewa Lake. Burial will be in Mound Hill cemetery in Seville.
Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Hite of Olena, Ohio, Miss Mildred Harper, Miss Harriett Harper and Mrs. Mabel McDonald, all of Chippewa Lake and Mrs. Mary Chapman of Blake.

Charles was in the service, then came home with a drinking problem. Traveled around the country, mostly as a hobo. He would drink any kind of alcohol he could...after shave, perfume, rubbing alcohol....he was a pitiful man, who had started out with such potential.

Charles' military & death certificate, as well as the cemtery's records all list him as "Charles H. Harper"; s/o Nathan & Deliah Jane "Jennie" (McCabe); Waite & Son FH, of Medina OH assisted the family with the arrangements. Charles enlisted on 14 Oct 1941 in Cleveland; and died in Cleveland, as a resident of Medina, OH. He was married to Elizabeth ? For a very short period of time. (Thanks Laurie Halliwell for this information...I had no idea when he enlisted).
