Mary Beth Boehmer, 63, of Battle Creek passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 in Kalamazoo at Borgess Medical Center.Mary Beth was born on May 25, 1951 in Battle Creek to Emert and Virginia (Brandt) Borgman. She attended school in Bellevue and graduated with the Class of 1969. A year later she married Randy Boehmer on August 1, 1970 at the Bellevue United Methodist Church.Mary Beth worked at various side jobs and enjoyed helping out at her church, but her priority and passion was taking care of her family. Mary Beth really enjoyed reading and doing arts and crafts including knitting and ceramics. On Thanksgiving if you came to dinner at her house, you would be leaving with a party favor that she made for you and also receive a Christmas decoration or dish cloth for a gift during the holidays. She also liked to play cards and go camping with the Good Sam camping group.She is survived by her husband, Randy; son, Curt of Marshall; daughter, Bethany of Battle Creek; three sisters, Gloria (Eric) Slaughter of Holland, Gayle (Simon) Lothamer of Gregory, and Jean (Rand) Eaton of Bellevue; step mother, Pauline Borgman of Charlotte and several uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents.A visitation to celebrate Mary Beth's life will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 4-6PM at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel, 723 US 27 North. A light supper for family and friends will immediately follow the visitation at 6PM at the Kempf Funeral Home Reception Hall. This will also be a time for everyone to share memories of Mary Beth. Memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Mary Beth requested this because she was a huge supporter of her husband's and all veterans' military service.
