James Hein, age 86, of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018. He was born on June 30, 1932, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, to the late Mathias and Emily (Cerkas) Hein. Jim graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and was hired by Manitowoc Engineering Company where he became a Journeyman Machinist. He served in the Air Force from 1951 – 1954 as a Jet Engine Mechanic, stationed in Korea, Japan, and England.

On August 9, 1958, he married his beloved, Kathleen (Rick) Hein, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc.

Jim enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and camping. In retirement, he used his mechanical talents to repair small engines.

Jim will be sadly missed by his children, Mitchell (Susan) Hein of Green Bay, Dennis Hein of Dallas, TX, Amy (John) LaValley of De Pere, and John (Lori) Hein of Neenah; grandchildren, Mathias Hein, Alex LaValley, Brendan LaValley, Carl Hein, and Eric Hein; two brothers, Ronald (Heidi) Hein of Tampa, FL and Phillip (Betty) Hein of Bryan, OH; one sister-in-law, Evie Hein of Manitowoc, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; and two brothers, Bill and Lester.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Dave Schmidt will be officiating. Burial will be at Ucker Cemetery in Kiel, Wisconsin. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund has been established in Jim's name.--Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services
