Ellard Isaac Whynot 1958 Bridgewater Bulletin Relatives and friends were shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Ellard Isaac Whynot, a life resident of this community on Saturday morning, March 29th., at the age of 71. He had been a patient at the D.M. Hospital where he underwent surgery some weeks previous and was thought to be convalescing satisfactorily for a complete recovery. Although not feeling as well as usual for several days of late, his death was unexpected. He was a son of the late Dean and Clara (Meisner) Whynot, of Branch LaHave. He is survived by five brothers, Leon and William of Branch LaHave (the latter with whom he resided); Harry and Ray of Bridgewater; and Laurie of Lower Branch; one brother, Leland, predeceased him; three sisters, (May) Mrs. Dan Coleman, Kentville; Mrs. Lillian Watts, P.E.I.; and Alma, Mrs. Teddy Hubley, Bridgewater. Funeral services were conducted at St. James Lutheran Church by his pastor, Rev. Donald Himmelman on Sunday, March 30th, at 1 p.m. Hymns sung were,"O God, Our help in Ages Past," "My Faith Looks up to Thee," and "Rock of Ages." Interment was in Hillside Cemetery. Pall bearers were Cecil Knox, Fred Veinot, Eugene Crouse, and Dalton Mailman.
