Emma was a daughter of George and Alethia "Letha" Ann (nee Phillips) Allen.

Emma would never married. After the death of her father, Emma would go to work as a housekeeper for Coates W. Shoemaker.

ALLEN, EMMA V. - On Saturday, May 20, 1950, at Washington Sanitarium Mission Hospital, EMMA V. ALLEN, beloved sister of Mrs. Frances R. Barjarow, Mrs. Ellen Martin and James H. Allen. Friends may call at the Lee Funeral Home, where services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, at 2:30 p.m. Interment Washington National Cemetery.
