Mr. Holtke had been a salvage machinist at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 40 years, last working Friday. He was a lifelong resident of Peoria County.
He was born in Peoria County May 29, 1900, a son of William and Katie Schmidt Holtke, and married Vashti Huffman Spidle at Burlington, Iowa, Aug. 26, 1939.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marilee) Callaway of Peoria; one son, Larry L. Spidle of North Dighton, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Alice) Grawey of Peoria and Mrs. Vern (Laura) Burnell, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and one brother, Asa G. Holtke of Peoria.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Cemetery.
