All he ever wanted to be was a farmer. He became a great Father,to Ed and Tom. Husband, to Edna(Rawlings) and Uncle.
For work he always worked as a machinist, working 10 hours a day, but always he wanted to be a farmer. He did try it too, after 10 hours at his job he would farm for several hours of hard work.
He was a Sunday school teacher. I sometimes would drive 300 miles to see them and on Sundays go to church.
Moving his family from Indiana to the Fresno area. One of the greatest men I ever had the opportunity to meet, I called him Uncle and friend. He was a giant of a man,(over 6 foot 4) both in spirit, heart and in size.
We still miss him a lot. The obituary says he left behind 3 brothers. Paul Dawson of St.Louis, Major Dawson of Michigan, and a sister Naomi Robertson of Chicago.
