Her first marriage was to Alfred Y. Chandler on September 3, 1846. Unfortunately, he died June 29, 1847 while she was expecting their first child. Mary Alfred Y. Chandler was born November 3, 1847.
On October 11, 1855 she was married to John Puryear and they had four children.

Martha Emmaline Puryear - 1860 - 1924
John David Otha Puryear 1862 - 1931
John Puryear died in the battle of Drewry's Bluff near Petersburg on May 16, 1864.
On January 28, 1875, she was married to Samuel T. Griffin. In the 1880 Census, they were living in Red Bank, Halifax County, Virginia. They had no children. After his death, she went to live with her sister at Kinton's Fork near Oxford, NC. where she died.
