Collie Hawkins "Granny", 96, of Plant City, Florida, born in Opp, Alabama on March 30, 1922, entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2018. She liked to quilt, but was known for her wonderful cooking. Sunday dinners with her family was always a special time for Granny. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Melvin V. Hawkins; daughter, Patricia Ann Breuggeman; and son, Chester Eugene Hawkins. She is survived by her grandchildren, Van Breuggeman (Maria), Jeff Hawkins (Eva), Todd Breuggeman (Donna), Kevin Hawkins (Susan), Eric Breuggeman (Stacey), Allen Hawkins, and Jason Hawkins; one sister, Willa Dean Grooms; daughter-in-law, Linda Hawkins; 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 4 at 3:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 S County Rd 39, Plant City, where the family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 P.M.
