Lucy A. Gates, 88, of 3215 Mishicot Road, Two Rivers, died Saturday evening at St. Mary’s Home.
Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Paul Schumacher will officiate and burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.
She was born on July 25, 1902, in the town of Gibson, daughter of the late John and Mary Charvot Finnel. She attended grade school and Manitowoc High School. For a number of years she was employed as an office worker at Mirro Alum. On September 7, 1927, she was married to Peter J. Gates at Cooperstown, Wis. He preceded her in death August 11, 1975. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Two Rivers Senior Center.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gene P. and Mary Lou Gates of Two Rivers; a sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Carl Sobiech of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Florence Finnel of Two Rivers and Gladys Finnel of Larrabee; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and John Finnel.
Friends may call at Holy Redeemer Church after 4 p.m. Thursday to the time of services. There will be no visitation at Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels.
