Gloria Jeanne Whitson, nee Wiggins, of Parrish, FL passed away October 30, 2018 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Raymond T. Whitson, Jr. and grandson, Christopher O. McGarr. Gloria was raised in Lexington, KY, the only child of Alvin T. and Opal V. Wiggins, where they were active members of Central Christian Church. She graduated from Lafayette High School and attended Transylvania University. Gloria sang in the choir at Central Christian and it was at a church function she met her future husband. Ray and Gloria often related fondly the introduction by Raymon Lowry of Lexington. Gloria's Lexington friendships were of special importance to her throughout her life. Her children will continue to hold dear her friends Mary Elizabeth "Sib" Tucker (Jack) and Delores Harper (Charles).

Gloria is survived by three sons, Raymond III (Heather) of Lexington, SC, Alvin T. (Donna) of Sharonville, OH, Stuart (Brenda) of Erlanger, KY and five daughters, Laura McGarr (Tom) of Duette, FL, Mary Hamilton (Robert) of Erlanger, KY, Carol Kirkwood (Michael) of Hebron, KY, Janet Wright (William) of Ryland Heights, KY and Rebecca Green (Mark) of Richwood, KY. She also leaves nephews Scott and Bruce Whitson, nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Kentucky.
