Samuel Russell Eickleberry, Sr., 81, of Hessville. Sam was called home November 10, 2018. Preceded in death by sons Russell, James, and Sam Jr. Survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Sharon; daughter, Stacey (Mike Starcevich) of Highland; grandchildren, Alyson, Amanda, Adam, and Hannah; great-granddaughter, Alayah. Sam was born in Adena, Ohio and moved to Hammond, IN where he retired from Beatty Machine after 25 years. He was a strong, gentle, and amazing husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was passionate about his cars, playing with his dog, Abby, and going out fishing at his lake home in Ludington, MI. Sam battled everything life was throwing at him, but was ready to see his beloved sons again. He will be dearly missed by all. Always and forever, we love you Grandpa. Visitation, Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at HILLSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322. Funeral services Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home, interment following at Ridgelawn Cemetery, 4401 W Ridge Rd Gary, IN 46408.
