Funeral services for James Walter Agnew, 83, of 6037 South Alameda were today at Cage-Mills Funeral Chapel. The Rev. George Lewis, associate minister of the First Methodist Church was to officiate, with burial in Seaside Memorial park.
Agnew, a retired cabinet maker and resident here 52 years, died yesterday at his home.
He formerly owned and operated Agnew's Novelty Shop on Ayers. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War.
Surviving are his wife, Alma; a son Millard T. Agnew; two daughters, Mrs. M. M. McCrorey and Miss Letha Agnew, all of Corpus Christi; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Joe Early, Leland DuPont, Jay Richards, George Hock, Francis French, A.L. Bonifay, and Benjamin Pennington.
