Robert "Bob" Earl Eaton, 83, of Burlington, died at 3:55 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2018, in Burlington.
Born January 20, 1935, in Burlington, he was the son of Archie Earl and Leona Lily Clark Eaton. On November 15, 1969, he married Joanne Marilyn Streedbeck in Burlington, Iowa. She passed on April 16, 2009.
Robert worked for the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility as a correctional officer..
He enjoyed spending time at home with his pet cat, Smokey, gardening, fishing, having a beer with friends, and playing cards with his neighbors. He also liked to golf in tavern tournaments with his brother, go mushroom hunting and watch Westerns and Lawrence Welk. He was a jokester and always loved to play pranks on people. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and a current member of the Eagle's Club.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Teresa Gillett and Elizabeth Eaton.
