Mary M. Schwoerer, age 54, a Manitowoc resident, died Friday, November 9, 2018 at Froedert Hospital, Milwaukee.
She was born on January 3, 1964 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Richard and Jean (Miller) Manthei. Mary was a graduate of Regis High School in Eau Claire, WI with the class of 1982. She was employed as a seamstress with Globe Laundry until her health prevented her from continuing. Mary enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, long talks over coffee and spending time with her grandkids. She was known as the dance grandma by all of the students at her grandchildren’s dance studio.
Survivors include three daughters: Elizabeth (Brian) Klein, Manitowoc, Paula Gerber, Jennifer (Steve) Chase, both of Two Rivers; three grandchildren; two brothers: Richard (Lynn) Manthei, Blair, WI, Paul Manthei, Brooklyn Center, MN; two sisters: Joni (Ron) Nienas, Sheboygan, Sue (Dave) Collins, Wendell, NC. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Richard and Jean Manthei.
A Life Celebration Social for relatives and friends will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
