Carolyn Spangler Adkins, 69, of 6059 NC Hwy 700, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, November 14th at her home.
Funeral services were held 11:00 AM at Happy Home Church Saturday, November 17, 2018 with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating. The burial followed in the church cemetery.
Carolyn was a native of Rockingham County and the daughter of the late, Calvin and Mildred Evans Spangler. She graduated from Ruffin High School and Rockingham Community College. She retired from the Rockingham County Department of Social Services after 28 years of service. She was a longtime and faithful member of Happy Home Church where she served in many different positions over the years. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Carolyn was always there to support them as they made lifetime memories together. She was always the life of the party with her camera ready! Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Chase Durham.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Rondy “Ronnie” Adkins of the home; her daughter, Stephanie Durham and husband, Tracy; her son, Michael Adkins and Wendy McCollum all of Reidsville; her brothers, Wayne Spangler and wife, Brenda of Ruffin and Tim Spangler and wife, Julia of Reidsville; her grandchldren, Hunter and Rachel Durham and Kaleb and Kole Adkins; and a large extended family and many friends.
