Mrs. Leon (Alice D.) Belongia, 68, of 1716A Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, June 2, 1987 at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert B. Hays will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Belongia was born September 8, 1918 in the Township of Ahnapee in Kewaunee County, daughter of the late Nels O. and Ida Helberg Petersen. She grew up and was educated in Algoma, Wisconsin and living in various cities and in 1950 moving from Neillsville, Wisconsin to Manitowoc, where she has made her home since. She was married to Leon A. Belongia, March 31, 1938 at Manitowoc. Mrs. Belongia was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Manitowoc and the Manitowoc Senior Center.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters and her husband on July 20, 1975.
Friends may call at Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral home, 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday and Friday until the time of services at 11 am.
