OLEAN - Adrian L. Torrey, of 1664 Olean-Portville Road, passed away peacefully Wednesday (April 18, 2018) at his home.
Born March 12, 1928, in Genesee, he was the son of Adrian B. and Nina Loucks Torrey. On June 15, 1948, in Olean, NY, he married Ethelruth B. Keller, who predeceased him Sept. 22, 2007.
Mr. Torrey was a graduate of Bolivar High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He went on to become the founder and president of Industrial Patterns Inc., in Bolivar. He enjoyed being a mentor for young men and women.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed writing songs and poetry. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are three children, David A. (Nanette) Torrey of Olean, Kimberly B. Torrey of Bolivar and Ruth T. Reisner of Olean; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne L. "Bob" Torrey and Timothy D. Torrey, both of Florida; one sister, Jerrie LaFever of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he was predeceased by one brother, E. Bruce Torrey; one sister, Shirley Blakeslee; one daughter-in-law, Rebecca R. Torrey; and one son-in-law, Walter "Terry" Reisner.
Burial will be in Bowler Memorial Cemetery in Little Genesee.
