LaVern L. "Vern" Brandenburg, age 73, of 1 Hamilton Drive, Two Rivers, died on Monday, March 16, 2009, at the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers.

LaVern was born on Feb. 24, 1936, in Two Rivers, son of the late Arthur and Fern (Mathiesen) Brandenburg. He attended schools in Two Rivers, and graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers.

He is survived by his cousin: Ruth Monk, Little Sturgeon; and special friend: Michael Granger, Manitowoc. LaVern was preceded in death by his parents and special friend: Lulabelle DeBauche.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2009, at the Hamilton Care Center in Two Rivers. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.

The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.

A special thank you is extended to the nurses and staff of Northland Lodge and the Hamilton Care Center for the wonderful care given to Vern.
