EMMA L. CISLER
(1919 - 2008)
Emma L. Cisler, age 88, a resident at the Manitowoc Health Care Center, formerly of 3624 N. Rapids Road, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, April 4, 2008, at the care center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 Pine St., Manitowoc. Officiating will be the Revs. Paul Schossow and Nicholas Maglietto with burial to follow at Knollwood Cemetery.
Emma was born Aug. 19, 1919, in the town of Gibson. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Emma Hostak Rehbein. She was a graduate of Mishicot High School with the class of 1937 and continued her education at the Manitowoc County Teachers College and Silver Lake College graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She taught 26 years in rural schools in Manitowoc County and Mishicot Elementary School from where she retired. On June 29, 1946, she married Victor H. Cisler at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Gibson. He preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1991. Emma was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Ladies of Immanuel and Esther Circle of Immanuel. She also was a member of National Retired Teachers Association, Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, Manitowoc County Retired Teachers Association, Mishicot Alumni Association, Manitowoc County Normal Alumni, Silver Lake College Alumni, Historical Society and the Manitowoc Senior Center.
